What Is Ear Diseases?

Hearing impairment: Ear related pathologies can cause impairment in hearing, which can be caused by various factors such as ear infection, damage to the inner ear or ear drum, or accumulation of earwax.

Dizziness and balance issues: The ear plays a role in maintaining body balance, so diseases involving the ear can also cause dizziness and balance issues, such as vertigo. This can be caused by inner ear problems, or problems with the vestibular nerve which controls balance.

The ear is one of our five sensory organs. It allows us to hear sounds and plays a role in maintaining body balance. These functions of the ear are impaired in diseases involving the ear. Ear pain, ear discharge, ear congestion, tinnitus and dizziness are the most common symptoms in ear-related pathologies. Tinnitus and vertigo are the most common ear complaints.
